Membership is open to women 18 and older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.  Documentation must be provided for each statement of birth, marriage, and death between the prospective member and the Revolutionary ancestor.  The National Society reserves the right to determine the acceptability of all service and proof thereof. ***Click on our Membership page to the left for additional details.*** If you believe you qualify but cannot document your ancestory, we may be able to help you.  If you are unsure, check out the Patriot Index Lookup Service to see if your ancestor is listed in the DAR Patriot Index.  Possibly someone has previously joined DAR on your patriots line.
