Cemetery Inscriptions and Records
of
Oceanview Memorial Park
Oceanside, San Diego County, California

Tombstone inscriptions were copied in 1990-1991 under the direction of Jeanne MacLardy, then Genealogical Records Chairman.

Oceanview Memorial Park, also referred to as Oceanview Cemetery, was formerly known as the I.O.O.F. or Oddfellows' Cemetery. It is located on Coast Highway at Godfrey, one block south of Oceanside Boulevard.

According to The San Diego Union of 10 March 1895, "The Oceanside Odd Fellows' Cemetery association filed articles of incorporation in the County Clerk's office yesterday." Burials appear to have begun on or shortly before the turn of the century and continued until the late 1980s. This cemetery has non-endowment care.

Mrs. MacLardy divided the cemetery into four sections designated as N.W., N.E., S.W., and S.E.; north and south were divided by the path, and east was separated from west by an imaginary line drawn from the intersection of Freeman and Godfrey Streets. Each row begins with number 1 at the path (e.g., N.W. 27).
